Giant Double Chocolate Chip Cookies
Ingredients:
3/4 c. butter. softened (a stick and a half)
1/2 c. packed brown sugar
1/2 c. white, granulated sugar
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla
1 tsp almond extract
1/3 c. cocoa powder, unsweetened
2 c. flour
1 tsp cornstarch
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1-1 1/2 c. chocolate chips (it all depends on your chocolate craving at the moment. I use a mix of milk and dark chocolate)
Directions:
- Cream butter and sugars until fluffy.
- Add egg, vanilla and almond extract, blend.
- Add cocoa powder and blend (do this slowly or you'll have a nice cocoa dust all over your kitchen!)
- Mix in the cornstarch, baking soda and salt.
- Add flour and blend.
- Stir in chocolate chips.
- Using an ice cream scoop (about a 1/4 per dough ball), drop cookie dough onto parchment lined cookie sheets and flatten with your hand until they're about an inch think.
- Bake at 325 degrees for 14-16 minutes.
Final product! Delish!
Now remember, this recipe only makes 10-12 of these cookies because they're so big, so you may want to double it if you're having guests.
