Best Cookies Ever

So I have a favorite chocolate chip cookie recipe that I've been using and my family loves. However, I ran out of some ingredients today and had a huge, uncontrollable craving for chocolate and fresh baked cookies so... I improvised. Is that so wrong? Not at all when you come up with a delicious new recipe!

Giant Double Chocolate Chip Cookies

Ingredients:

3/4 c. butter. softened (a stick and a half)
1/2 c. packed brown sugar
1/2 c. white, granulated sugar
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla
1 tsp almond extract
1/3 c. cocoa powder, unsweetened
2 c. flour
1 tsp cornstarch
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1-1 1/2 c. chocolate chips (it all depends on your chocolate craving at the moment. I use a mix of milk and dark chocolate)

Directions:

  1. Cream butter and sugars until fluffy.
  2. Add egg, vanilla and almond extract, blend.
  3. Add cocoa powder and blend (do this slowly or you'll have a nice cocoa dust all over your kitchen!)
  4. Mix in the cornstarch, baking soda and salt.
  5. Add flour and blend.
  6. Stir in chocolate chips.
  7. Using an ice cream scoop (about a 1/4 per dough ball), drop cookie dough onto parchment lined cookie sheets and flatten with your hand until they're about an inch think.
  8. Bake at 325 degrees for 14-16 minutes.
 Final product! Delish!

Now remember, this recipe only makes 10-12 of these cookies because they're so big, so you may want to double it if you're having guests.
